From the Desk of Asli Yetkin

Minerals and metals are indispensable for economic activities. The energy transition is set to increase the demand for materials and various industries are expected to be consuming more minerals in the near future.
Mining accounts for nearly 10 % of world’s energy consumption and the industry has taken up a ‘Sustainability revolution’ supported with digitization to underpin the goal of energy transition globally
The increase in demand combined with focus on sustainability, makes the Mining industry ripe for a transformation.
Castrol – with bp is actively participating in this transformation starting with Australia which holds a significant share of world’s Iron ore, Lithium, Bauxite and Gold production.
Castrol enjoys market leadership in Australia and is thereby rightly positioned to offer new solutions to the mining industry and share them with other select geographies as per our global CV strategy. We shall rejuvenate our offer for the transitioning mining industry.
The Mining workshop in February 2025 will be a unique opportunity to put our thoughts together and develop a roadmap of solutions (across Products and services) for the mining industry for Immediate, Mid term and long term future.
Thank you for taking time and we hope you enjoy !

Castrol Global Marketing

From the Desk of Jane Carland

Mining is a key segment of the Castrol ANZ business, contributing 51% volume and 39% GM. The scale provided by this volume enables efficiencies which benefit all segments of the business.
Castrol ANZ have been market leaders in the Mining market for many years. This success has been created through a strong product portfolio, capability of supply and cost competitiveness, onsite technical support and innovation.
To enable future growth in the Mining sector, it is imperative that we continue to develop and execute innovative offers to create competitive advantage. A future focused product portfolio, sustainability offer and digitization are some examples of key areas which will enable future growth. We also need to go to market as an integrated company across all functions of bp and Castrol.
